This push saw a number of bug fixes, clean ups and user improvements across the application with a big focus being around improving POI Manager and Placecast as we lay the groundwork for future enhancements in those areas.
IMXDEV-2205
Placecast now reliably and quickly generates Place Sets up to 400 places.
IMXDEV-1983
Placecast also now sets a limit to not allow you to add more than 400 places to your Report. Having this limit allows us to ensure the reliability and speed just mentioned above. Over time we plan to raise this limit but for now this is for everyone’s best experience.
IMXDEV-2042
We’ve completed a bunch of streamlining and user flow improvements to POI Manager to make the experience flow better, be more intuitive and clean up bugs.
IMXDEV-2226
In POI Manager we cleaned up logic around when “Place as a Point only” works so that when checked it is registered accordingly.
IMXDEV-2272
When selecting a Place(s)/Place Set in Placecast always make “My Places” the first from left in the Place selection options. This creates a consistent experience where before sometimes “My Places” was on the left and sometimes on the right.
IMXDEV-2209
When defining parameters in Placecast we’ve removed from UI the “Reporting Geography Filter” as it doesn’t currently enable additional functionality and could potentially cause confusion. This essentially streamlines the process and reduces decisions that the user needs to make.
IMXDEV-2112
In the Placecast report the map pin icon now enables a user to open up the place into a modal window. This window is view only but shows a map of the location along with the polygon being used for data collection in the Placecast report.
IMXDEV-2156
POI Manager now has a “View Only” mode for users who do not have editor access but would like to view POIs (Points of Interests). This is the same functionality used for displaying the pin icons in the Placecast reports but is also used in POI Manager for users who are not given edit access.
IMXDEV-2075
When adding or editing the Places that are part of the Placecast report the user now has enhanced visual feedback as they add new places to their report. When selecting new Places to add to the report as part of “Editing Parameters” and hitting the “Add Selected” button the button then becomes grayed out so that the user knows this has been accepted where previously it stayed active.
We also ask the user during this addition if they would like to add newly selected Places to a new Place Set or use the current report.
IMXDEV-1676
Finally we have made a small universal change going from “Zip code” to “Postal Code” across the application. This is a “good clean living” step in anticipation of future international expansion.
